Docklander Deals Loyalty Reward Program

Destination Docklands will announce the launch of the new Docklander Deals Loyalty Reward Program at the Docklands Chamber of Commerce Network Meeting this Tuesday 19th April.

Beautiful Docklands at dusk

What is the Docklander Deals Loyalty Reward Program?
The program is designed to give Docklands businesses an opportunity to make offers to the 25,000 population of people who live, work and play in Docklands.

Free for cardholders, Docklanders will get special access to a web page listing offers from participating businesses.  These offers will change monthly, rotate randomly and the best offers will be emailed out to members every month.

Participating businesses will be able to make monthly offers, attract customers from all over Docklands, maintain a solid customer base, improve customer loyalty and strengthen relationships.

For those who live, work and play in Docklands

Destination Docklands logo

According to Destination Docklands "the great benefit of the Docklander Deals is that targets people who live, work and play in Docklands. Being an active cardholder means you have access to all the special deals on offer throughout Docklands."

"If you are a business participant you can spread the news of your deals to all who live, work and play in Docklands. The difference between this program and others that may exist is that it is for all Docklanders not just precinct dwellers. We hope to see cross pollination between the precinct dwellers."

Discover a history of sports at the National Sports Museum, MCG

The National Sports Museum is one of the most amazing places you can visit in Melbourne. It is located at the Melbourne Cricket Ground only a few minutes from the city, and is easily accessed by public transport.

Great moments of Australian cricket

Discover great moments of cricket

Live through the great moments of Australian and international cricket through the various artifacts and interactive videos available in the cricket section.

Discover what old cricket bats looked like, what clothes were worn back in the day and learn about the teams that have played the sport.Truly amazing.

A history of AFL...

This section is all about what made AFL over the years. You can even relive some outstanding moments in AFL through an interactive video that allows you to re-watch snippets of specific football matches.

...and James Hird in 3D!

Hirdy!

The 3D hologram of James Hird will no doubt be popular now that it is football season. You can watch James Hird tell you about his experience as a football player for Essendon and what impact it had on his life. It is both a thrilling and moving story which can be appreciated by everyone, not only Essendon fans.

Sports Documentaries on NSM Cinema Sport

This 34-seat movie theatre is currently screening three 12 minute documentaries. We saw Nerves of Steel and Peter Brock - both great documentaries, even for people who are not particularly passionate about sports.

Documentaries showing are:

Bustin’ Down The Door – (12 mins)
In 1975 a group of Australian and South African surfers revolutionised their sport.  Surfing was never to be the same again.

Nerves of Steel – abridged version (11 mins)
Four daring young Australian women threw themselves headfirst into the dangerous sport of Skeleton.  Could a bold scientific experiment lead to Winter Olympic glory?

Peter Brock – King Of The Mountain (12 mins)
Brock’s domination of the Mount Panorama Circuit at Bathurst is legendary.
Discover the relationship between the racing car driver and the mountain.

It's Game On!

This was definitely one of the most interesting sections of the museum. Whether you are a kid or an adult or both (like me), you will love the interactive gallery. You can try a variety of sports including netball, cricket, basketball, bike riding, football, soccer and archery.

Tip: wear runners - you don't want your shoe flying away with the football as you kick.
