Swim For Life, Phillip Island March 16th 2011

Swim for Life is a fundraising event whose aim is to raise funds for a medical facility in Phillip Island

The nearest medical facility is currently 25kms away, which is not practical for the locals and tourists visiting the area, especially in the case of an emergency.

Watch the video and learn about the courageous athlete who will swim 65kms in shark infested waters for this cause

The Swim for Life initiative will comprise of a series of events such as a public swim and Gala to raise funds.

Amanda Drennan, a former Paralympian, will be swimming around the whole of Phillip Island – a long 65km swim in shark infested waters! But don’t worry, she will be well protected in a shark cage.

The swim will take around 4-5 days so you can still show your support to Amanda! See a link to her blog at the end of this article.

Arts Auction

The Swim for Life Gala is an event where art pieces by local artists will be auntioned off to raise funds for the medical centre.
